Signature woven metal "Silk"
Otherwordly and ethereal in essence. This diaphanous material is architectural in a beautiful new context. In the real world, glittering woven brass is used in industry and labs for it's functional properties. Woven metallic sheeting made exclusively in the North of England, Rachel sought to create art.
"It glimmers like a sea ceiling and sunlight passes through it as though it's natural silk, I came across it and it just made sense given my background to give this unique material a completely new life"

Embellishments
To accompany the unique hand forged petals, blossom centres are mimicked using fine embellishments.
High grade quality freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. Each flower is finished and secured in place with a delicate Japanese miyuki seed bead. All tiny details that make each piece unrepeatable and individual to you.
My practice has evolved so much since it's infancy, driven by a curious spirit and a thirst to always learn and develop. I’ve studied millinery and metalsmithing and now combine those with embroidery skills adapted as wirework. I use both vintage and modern tools to craft a wide range of delicate floral designs using sheets of woven brass ‘silk’ and pearls.
"Originally from Huthwaite; a small ex-mining village bordering the Peak District, I’ve long been a “fairy-fingered” fervent craftsperson from an early age. I’ve always been passionate about not only creating beautiful things, but mastering rare and archaic techniques and my distinct style organically grew from there. I started my makers studio out of my new, small, light-filled home studio in the summer of 2023, never looking back."
